Age 81, of Glassport, PA, on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Family Hospice & Palliative Care at Canterbury, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born September 6, 1932 in McKeesport, the son of the late Paul Valyo and Helen Kerestan Valyo. A graduate of McKeesport High School, William was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church. After his retirement as a manager from Milliken Carpet Company, LaGrange, GA, he worked for PA Floors and Toth Carpet in the contract carpet division. He was the husband of Dolores Dworek Valyo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bailey Hanson. He is survived by his wife, with whom he celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on September 11, 2013, Dolores Dworek Valyo; four children, Gregory Valyo of Glassport, Atty. Cary Valyo and wife, Cheryl Collins Valyo of Forest Hills, Christian Valyo and Leslie Valyo Hanson, both of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Hayley, Olivia, and Nathaniel Valyo and Taylor Hanson; three brothers-in-law, Stanley Dworek of Monroeville, Richard Dworek of Cranberry Township, and Robert Dworek and wife, Peggy of Gibsonia; and several nieces and nephews. At William's request, there will be no viewing. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of William at his funeral Mass to be celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church, 1001 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Greensburg, PA 15601 on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville, PA.
