William R. Stephen, 87, of Jeannette, died Monday, January 22, 2024 in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born October 11, 1936, in Hannastown, a son of the late Jacob and Ivy Richards Stephen. Bill was a member of the Mason's Local Lodge #225, the Syria Shriner's of Pittsburgh and the Scottish Rite. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Bill loved his family, all animals, Willie Nelson, sitting in the sun, solitaire, Jack Daniel’s, and walks at Twin Lakes with his “sweet thing” Chrissy. With his unique personality and keen sense of humor, he could bring a smile to anyone’s face and make them feel like a million bucks. A jack of all trades and a master of all, he shared his creative soul through his oil painting, furniture restoration, and various other crafts and hobbies. He was a college gymnast, enjoyed golfing, and in later years, going to the gym. We will miss him eternally and were so lucky to have had him as our husband and father. In the words of the great Tom T. Hall, “We love you too much”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph Stephen. He is survived by his wife and best friend of fifty-eight years, Christy Carroll Stephen; two daughters, Laura Brenner (John) of Glenside and Debra Stephen (Gavin Archer) of Butler; two grandchildren, William Stephen Brenner and Ivy Rose Brenner; two sisters, Marlene Fidazzo (Charles) of Forbes Road and Judith Pauza of Derry; several nieces and nephews and many friends. As per Bill’s wishes there will be no public services or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill’s memory may be made in honor of Leah Szczepanski (his great-niece) at www.lovelikeleah.org. William’s family has entrusted his care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg. For online condolences / directions, visit us at pantalone.com. Natale N. Pantalone, supervisor.
