Thomas D. McChesney, 86, of Crabtree, died Saturday, October 26, 2024, in his home. He was born October 19, 1938, in Greensburg, a son of the late William P. and Virginia Kemerer McChesney. Tom grew up as a farmer, where he developed a love for working in the garden. He was especially proud of his tomatoes and peppers. He was a faithful member of St. Bartholomew Church where he was extremely active by working the Bingo's at Marian Hall, working in the food booth for the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Festival and was one of the 'fryers' for the Lenten Fish Fry. Tom was a proud US Army veteran, having served with the 82nd Airborne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-four years, Mary 'Connie' Cusano McChesney on September 26, 2024; two brothers, Harry and Bob McChesney; sister, Susie Doyle; and Chrissy's companion, Dean Betler. He is survived by his daughter, Chrissy McChesney of Greensburg; his five grandchildren, Tommy (Trystan), Billy, Christian, Lucy and Gloria; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Tom’s Funeral Mass, Monday, November 04, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Bartholomew Church with Fr. Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating. Everyone please go directly to the Church. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Clelian Heights School for Exceptional Children 135 Clelian Heights Lane, Greensburg, PA 15601.
