Scott Alan DeMatteo, 60, of Greer, SC, formerly of South Greensburg, died Friday, December 13, 2024. He was born June 23, 1964, in Scottdale, a son of the late Jerry and Marie Bugosh DeMatteo. Scott was a twenty-two year veteran of the US Air Force and retired from both the Department of Defense and Lockheed Martin after forty-two total years of service to the Military. He was a Master Sergeant and enjoyed the role of flight engineer, flying 707, 727 and C130 aircraft. He also had a private pilot's license as well. Scott was extremely patriotic and would do anything required of him for his Country. He served on several top-secret missions that kept our Country safe and secure over the years. In his private life, he enjoyed working on automobiles and was a collector of a 1970 Challenger, a 2024 Challenger and a 2003 Trans AM. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Simpsonville, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle that raised him from the age of eleven, Robert and Mary DeMatteo Celani. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of twenty-seven years, Jennifer Anne Collins DeMatteo; his two sons, Vincent and Christopher DeMatteo; and his brother and sister, Robert Celani and Carol Fanell, both of Greensburg and their families. Relatives and friends of Scott will be received Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Pantalone Funeral Home. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dale K. Graham Veterans Foundation, Veterans Administration Disability Claims Assistance, 1233 W Lindsey St., Norman, OK 73069.
