Sandra Farina

Sandra Faye (Shilling) Farina , 72, of Greensburg, died Thursday, April 14, 2016, in the St. Anne Home. She was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Wichita Falls, Texas, a daughter of the late Curtis and Juanita Mills Shilling. Sandra was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at California University of Pennsylvania and loved being a nurse and working with her colleagues at Latrobe Hospital. She also had worked for a time at Monsour Medical Center. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Grace and also was active with the St. Vincent DePaul Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Carson Shilling. She is survived by her husband, Frank L. Farina, whom she married Sept. 6, 1964; three children, Lisa (William) Feathers, of Mars, Frank (Susan) Farina, of Monroeville, and Karrie (David) Holt, of Seven Valleys; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily and Benjamin Farina, Rachel and Daniel Feathers and Allison and Jacob Holt; three sisters, Oletha (Tony) Palazzola, Rebecca (Lacey) Bethel and Regina (Kenneth) Almond, all of Roanoke, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Sandra from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Parting prayers will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church.
