Samuel V. Sciabica , 94, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at home. He was born November 25, 1921, in Strabane, PA, a son of the late Santo and Rose Betonte Sciabica. Sam was a retired foreman for Ironworkers, Local #3 of Pittsburgh. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and a WW II Veteran, having served in the US Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sallie Scichilone Sciabica; a brother, Frank Sciabica; and a sister, Mary Jane 'Sis' Ruscello. He is survived by his son, Vincent S. Sciabica and his fiancee, Mary M. Poleto; a sister, Carmella 'Honey' Dixon of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Samuel, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. Parting prayers will be held in the funeral home Saturday 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
