Sally (Elliott) Smail , 86, of Greensburg, passed Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, in Redstone Highlands, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Hilary and Elsie Elliott. Sally was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg, and the Eastern Star. She was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School and prior to working at Westmoreland Hospital, she was a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sally liked to golf, bowl, play bingo and play bridge after her retirement. She had a great group of friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. "The Ref" Smail Sr., Dec. 3, 1993; her sister, Betty Federico and her husband, Ed; her brother, Robert Elliott; and her grandson, Christopher Smail. She is survived by her five children, Debra (Bob) Saltsman, of Florida, Sally (Richard) Guerrieri, of Greensburg, Karen Smail, of Lewes, Del., Harry F. Smail Jr. (Rene'), of Greensburg, and Molly Smail, of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren, Roberta Flannery (Brian), Robin Tate (Jeff), Deena Addy (Joe), Samantha Proctor (Michael), Alexa, Alice, Connor and Caileana Smail and Joey (Renee) Guerrieri; 11 great-grandchildren, Chad and Abby Flannery, Reagan and Jackson Tate, Eloise and Tucker Guerrieri, Bryden and Landon Proctor, Annabelle Addy, Leo Smail and Laura Guerrieri; and very special nieces and nephews, Patti (Chip) Shirey, Ed (Sue) Federico and Jimmy (Sandy) Federico. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Sally from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020 . A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg. Entombment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. The family would like to specifically thank Dr. Tatiana Leibu, the staff of Redstone Highlands, Dr. J. Adisey, Dr. G. Joseph and Dr. S. Treter for their compassionate care of Sally.
