Richard F. Urbani, 80, of Jeannette, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous struggle with a spinal chordoma. He was born June 17, 1936, in Jeannette, a son of the late Adolph and Gemma (Yorio) Urbani. Richard graduated with the great class of 1954 at Jeannette High School and from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in 1958. He did post-graduate work at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he served as a medic and pharmacist. He was employed at his Uncle Art Urbani's store (Urbani's Pharmacy) in Jeannette and for 32 years as the pharmacy director at the former Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was a member of many local, state and national pharmacy organizations and was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree. He lived a great life and loved traveling, gardening and opening his heart and home to family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Urbani. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Volpe) Urbani, and three sons, Richard Todd, of Philadelphia, Steven (Stacey), of Midland, Mich., and Adam, of Greensburg. He has six beautiful grandchildren that he cherished and loved spending time with, Dominic and Mia, and Wyatt, Nicholas, Alexis and Aria Urbani. He has two brothers, Robert (Mary Jane), of Greensburg, and Jerry (Linda), of Irwin, and three sisters, Bonnie Pregrad (Richard), of Fort Mill, S.C., and Arlene Quinn and Donna Roscoe, of Greensburg. He is also survived by Gloria's brother, Joseph A. Volpe, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Eric Campbell for his care and compassion for Richard, as well as Excela Home Health and Hospice. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bartholomew Church, Father Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating (Everyone please go directly to the Church.).
