Richard Johnson

Richard 'Rich' Johnson , 78, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021.  He was born May 14, 1942, in McKeesport, a son of the late Albert Edward and Mary Elizabeth Frazier Johnson.  Rich was a perfectionist, paying great attention to detail and stressing the importance of doing things right.  Even though he had no military training, he was able to attain the rank of Chief Pilot on a corporate jet aircraft through schooling, self-training and hard work.  He was able to fly anything from single engine planes to jets. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Flying Club in Latrobe.   In addition to his aviation experience, he also had a family owned construction business and was a member of the Local #432 Carpenter's Union of PA.  As a skilled carpenter, he built four homes in which he lived in all of them at some point during his life.  After retiring, Rich spent a good deal of time at the TDI Ballroom Dance Studio learning various ballroom dances.  He truly enjoyed dancing and was also a member of the Pittsburgh Area Jitterbug Club.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Jonathan Millantz; and a sister, Mary Louise Conaway.  He is survived by his two sons, Robert Johnson of Bethel Park and Ronald Johnson (Natalie) of Waxhaw, NC; a grandson, Banks Fulton Johnson; stepdaughter, Roslyn Puskar (Michael) and her children JC and Cecelia of Mt. Pleasant;  six siblings, Christine Davis (Lloyd Patross) of Oakmont, Albert Johnson (Bonnie) of Bangor, ME, Norma Johnson (Dave Harrison) of Edgewater, FL, JoAnn Guzman(Frank) of Salisbury, NC; Kenneth Johnson (Marion) of Rostraver Township and Dennis Johnson of Clarksville; numerous nieces and nephews; former wives, Linda and Norma; and special friend, Donna Zouvas.  Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Rich, Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.  A private funeral service will follow in the Funeral Home.  Keeping with CDC guidelines, those attending the viewing and funeral are required to wear face masks.  Because of current social distancing restrictions, only 35 people will be permitted in the funeral home at one time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Humane Society of Westmoreland County, PO Box 1552, Greensburg, PA  15601.  Rich’s family has entrusted his care to the Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc., Greensburg.  To share your memories and photos, offer your condolences, or for directions, please visit us at www.pantalone.com Natale N.
