Richard ‘Rick’ D. DeChicchis, Jr., 61, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife and family on Monday, December 18, 2023. He was born July 22, 1962, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Richard D. DeChicchis, Sr. and Barbara Bradley Scarff. The world lost the most selfless, loving, big hearted man who would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it. Rick held on and fought as long as he could, determined to stay with the love of his life, of 24 years, Ricki 'Beautiful' DeChicchis, his sons, daughters, and grandchildren. In his free time when he was not working at the family business, Reliable Auto, you would find him at home enjoying his patio, dancing anywhere and everywhere with his wife, shooting pool, playing golf, quad riding or enjoying a long island at his favorite club, Fox Hill. He was a hardworking blue-collar man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He welcomed everyone with an open heart and offered anyone a seat at the table whether you were invited or not. He was a doting grandfather who loved chasing his grandchildren around and always had a good joke or funny comment to lighten the mood. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Barbara; an infant sister, Cynthia Ann DeChicchis and Piper the cat. He was survived by his loving wife, Ricki DeChicchis; children, Richard (Anderson), Sarah (T.J) Matthew (Scarlett), Brian (Kelsey), Bryce (Samantha), Automn (Chad); grandchildren, Isla, Mason, Leo, Liam, Caleigh, River, Meadow, Hudson, and Myles; stepmother, Kathy DeChicchis; siblings, Cheryl, Brian (Aurora), Jeff (Pam), Michelle (Robert), Paul (Deborah), Shawn (Lisa), Jill (Randy), Wendy, Rebecca (Jim); several nieces, nephews; honorary brother and sister Jimmy and Dana Stevenson; and pets Percy, JoZ and Peri. (A funeral service to be held at 3 p.m. and a closing prayer at 4:30 p.m.) in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.
