Philomena Dominick, 99, of Hannastown, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024, where she resided at St. Anne Home in Greensburg. She spent her last years there with her husband of 77 years, Lewis Dominick, Jr., who passed away just last week. Some say that their love story was like the Nicholas Sparks’s novel, so to quote The Notebook, “We fell in love despite our differences, and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created.” Philomena, known to most as Florence, Flo, Grandma, Gram, and Yehaw, was born August 13, 1924, in Hannastown. The daughter of the late Daniel and Rose (Mignogna) Panigall, she was a lifelong member of St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, and was a proud member of the Church’s Altar Rosary Society and Fellowship Group. She worked in her early years at the Jamison Coal & Coke Company Store in Hannastown, GC Murphys, Glantz’s Market in Hannastown and housekeeping at Seton Hill University, which she loved. She was a Ladies Auxiliary member of the Keystone Rod & Gun Club and Old Crabtree Sportsman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all of five brothers - Joseph, Martin, Samuel, James and Daniel Panigall; five sisters - Antoinette Dominick, Mary Ann DelGrippo, Carmelita Panigall, Teresa Panigall, and Rose Fragapane. She is survived by three sons - Lewis III (Meredith), David (Debbie), Paul (Margie); 3 grandchildren - Keith (Gayle), Kurt (Chassity), Holly Stuller (Josh); 5 great-grandchildren - Sophia & Josephine Dominick, Ava Dominick, Macy & Chelsy Stuller; one sister – Marie Gasperin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Flo, Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home Monday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., in the St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, with Fr. Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating. Interment alongside her beloved husband will follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Crabtree. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Excela Home Care attendant, Lisa Impink, and finally to the staff of St. Anne Home, especially the staff at Benjamin Gardens. Philomena’s family has entrusted her care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg. For online condolences / directions, visit us at pantalone.com. Natale N. Pantalone, supervisor.
