Melvin Popovich

Melvin Popovich , 81, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023. He was born Feb. 11, 1941, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Matt and Mary Lakinich Popovich. Melvin was a proud veteran, having served for 12 years as an MP in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He had won several awards for his marksmanship over the years. Melvin also had worked for Latrobe Steel and Eidemiller Construction Co. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Patricia M. Houck; two children, Kenneth Popovich (Diane), of Greensburg, and Cheri Popovich, of Irwin; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Shandel, of Greensburg, and Margaret Bouse, of Atascadero, Calif.; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. At the family's request, there will be no viewing or services. Melvin's family has entrusted her care to the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W.
