Martha A (Zelinsky) Martino, 83, of Greensburg, died Friday, March 08, 2024 in the Greene Health and Rehab Center. She was born July 24, 1940, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Bednar Zelinsky. Martha was fighting her biggest fight ever, battling brain cancer. But her devotion to faith gave her strength and courage to always remain hopeful in the eye of a storm. She was a positive force to her family and friends. Always reaching out to chat, write letters, a simple “hello” or lending a helpful hand. A loving mother and grandmother who worked tirelessly to provide comfort when sick and love whenever we needed it. Someone who prayed endlessly for others wellbeing. She made sacrifices without anyone knowing to sometimes do without to make others happy. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. She made countless donations to St. Jude, food bank, religious charities, and hospitals. Her faith was the driving force she lived by. Teaching us all what unconditional love really means. Those lessons made her family what they are today. “To remain grateful for life every day is a gift.” “Superheroes don’t always wear a cape they wear a leather jacket sometimes.” May Heaven rejoice and celebrate Martha’s arrival as she completed God’s work here on earth. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Martino; son, James A. Martino; and son-in-law, John Gannon. She is survived by her, two daughters, Christine Gannon and Diane Gerard (Dean), both of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Matthew Gannon, Olivia and Claire Gerard; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Martha, Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.
