Mark Ritter

Mark L Ritter , 67, of Latrobe, formerly of Traverse City, MI, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at home.  He was born March 27, 1954, in Detroit, MI, a son of the late Charles and Phyllis Rushton Ritter.  As a resident of Traverse City, MI, Mark was a self-employed Dental Technician along with a Supervisor for Acme Township.  After relocating, he retired as a Superintendent for AuSable Township, Oscoda, MI.  He had a deep love for nature and protecting the natural environment and had been very involved in the field of conservation with the Northern Michigan Environmental Action Council.  More recently he had been interested in helping with the Westmoreland Land Trust.  He enjoyed traveling, especially in the Caribbean Islands.   He is survived by his daughter, Julie Helman (Ben) of Latrobe; three grandchildren, Lauren, Garret and Camilo Helman; two brothers, Chris Ritter (Kristine) and Steve Ritter (Christine)  all of MI; sister,  Michele Lumpkin (Mike) of CO; several nieces and nephews and Mary Ritter of Greensburg.  There will be no public viewing or services.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Northern Michigan Environmental Action Council, 1209 S Garfield Ave, Traverse City, MI 49686 or the Westmoreland Land Trust, 218 Donohoe Rd, Greensburg, PA 15601.  Mark’s family has entrusted his Clement L.
