Lydia Lawrence

Lydia K. (Rainey) Lawrence , 61, of Greensburg, died Friday, April 22, 2022 in the Greensburg Care Center.  She was born August 30, 1960, in Ashville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Robert Clifford and Cora Edith (Whitt) Rainey, Jr. Prior to becoming ill, Lydia was a faithful and active member of the Pentecostals of Greater Johnstown Area Church.  She loved working with children and was active with the children ministries and putting on plays at the church.  She enjoyed baking for family and friends when she was able. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David N. Lawrence in 2017; daughter, Melinda Lawrence; and sister, Annette Rainey. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Joseph (Geral) of Pittsburgh; 'son', Chris Custer of VA; two granddaughters, who she adored, Ava and Aliyah; brother, David Rainey (Sandy) of OH; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held May 14th at 11am at The Pentecostals of Greater Johnstown Area located at 184 Veterans St., Hollsopple, PA 15935. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
