Lucille (Speed) Skillings , 83, of Irwin, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in the Westmoreland Manor. She was born November 07, 1933, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Samuel and Julia VanHorn Speed. She was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church in Irwin and a decorator for the former Jeannette Glass. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry "Herky" Skillings; a daughter, Shelly Skillings; and four brothers, Benny, James, Eugene and Irvin Speed; and two sisters, Patricia Heuitt and Julie Mae Williams. Lucille is survived by her two sons, Kim Skillings and wife Tina and Dwayne Skillings, all of Greensburg; two granddaughters, Alaina Skillings of Cincinnati, OH and Amanda Skillings of Arlington, VA; a sister, Ruth Brown of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Lucille, Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Bethel AME Church, 304 Walnut St, Irwin, PA 15642, with Rev. Aisha Tate officiating. The family would like to thank Nature Commons Park, Westmoreland Manor and Bridges Hospice for Lucille’s care.
