Loretta A. Gerard

Loretta A. (Mendel) Gerard, 89, of Greensburg, died peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, February 09, 2025. She was born June 15, 1935, in Wilmerding, the youngest daughter of the late Jozef and Anelia Dacko Mendel. Loretta was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Grace, where she joyfully served at the weekly fish fry during Lent. Alongside her husband, she also contributed her time and talents at St. Emma's Monastery. Loretta cherished traveling to be with her daughters and grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Gerard on September 26, 2024; a daughter, Denise Beck; all of her brothers and sisters and her grandson, Timothy Thomas. She is survived by her three sons, Gregg Gerard (Sharon Kunkle) and Bill Gerard, both of Greensburg, PA and David Gerard of Tampa, FL; three daughters, Karen Bonasso (Phillip) of Franklin, TN, Terri Wagner of Sonoma, CA and Christine Thomas (Terry) of Beltsville, MD; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of Loretta will be received Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., in the Our Lady of Grace Church.
