Lloyd Shaw

Lloyd A. "Shorty" Shaw , 87, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, in Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe. He was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Lloyd H. "Red" and Susan A. McClain Shaw. Lloyd was a retired security guard for Powerex, in Youngwood.  He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church, the Cercemaggiore Organization, South Greensburg American Legion and a US Veteran, having served in the Air Force.  He also was a life member of the Mt. Pleasant VFD rescue squad.  Shorty always enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and in his younger years enjoyed playing golf and baseball.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Palmine M. DeBone Shaw, in 2012; a brother, John Shaw; two sisters, Mary Moore and Nancy Wilkins, and a niece, Mary Sue Criner. He is survived by Palmine's siblings, Joanne S. DeBone (James DiStefano), of Canton, Ga., Donna M. Petroy (Vincent), of Indianapolis, Ind., Saundra J. Singer (James), of Greensburg, Frank A. DeBone, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Joseph M. DeBone (Dot), of Greensburg; nieces and nephews, Maria Condo, Amanda Sauermann (Bernd), Patrick Condo (Taryn), Vincent Petroy (Julane), Jay Petroy, Alex Manley (Matthew), Jake DeBone, Sally Lou Krepps (Harry), Kenneth R. "Buster" Moore Jr., John E. "Yush" Shaw Jr. (Lori), Lloyd A. Moore, Bob Shaw (Penny), Nancy Lee Hensel, Thomas E. Moore (Kendra), Richard D. Wilkins (Bonnie) and Roderick D. Wilkins (Loretta); and numerous great-nieces and -nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Lloyd from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed at 11 a.m. by a funeral Mass to be celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church. Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Shorty will be missed by his family and friends for his gentle ways and his sense of humor.
