Lawrence A. “Larry” Sabol, Jr., 62, of Claridge, died Tuesday, June 04, 2024 in the Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor, FL, surounded by his loving family. He was born August 05, 1961, in Jeannette, a son of Helen Wojtaszek Sabol Lunn of Greensburg and the late Lawrence A. Sabol, Sr. Larry was a member of Mother of Sorrow's Church in Murrysville and a retired Electrical Engineer for West Penn Power Company (FirstEnergy). Larry was a kind-hearted, generous soul who left the mark of his profound goodness on everyone he met. He was a devoted Catholic and served in various ministries including the choir and the Hospitality Ministry. Larry was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Manordale Valley Council. In his youth, Larry was a talented musician and vocalist and was selected for several honors bands and choirs. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Electrical Engineering and spent his entire 40-year career with West Penn Power (FirstEnergy). Larry met his wife Lisa when they were small children. Their youthful friendship blossomed into a deep love that sustained them for 40 years of a wonderful partnership. Larry enjoyed landscaping, cooking, woodworking, and producing a never-ending stream of functional and artistic creations for his home. During his son Daniel’s youth, Larry coached hockey for several teams in Westmoreland County, having achieved a Master Level Coaching Certification from USA Hockey. In his later years, Larry immensely enjoyed spending time at his home in Oldsmar, FL where he rekindled his love for fishing and golf. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Lisa A. Smolcic Sabol; devoted son, Daniel L. Sabol of Monroeville; sister, Renee Coffee; brother in law, the Very Reverend Samuel J. Smolcic (Marsha) of Greenburg; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Larry, Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. Parting prayers will be said in the funeral home Monday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Memorial donations may be made to Mother of Sorrows Church, 4202 Old William Penn Hwy, Murrysville, PA 15668.
