Joseph A. Starry, Jr. , 83, of New Alexandria, died Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at home. He was born August 01, 1937, in New Alexandria, a son of the late Joseph A. Starry, Sr. and Irene G. Campbell Starry. For fifty-nine years, Joe was a school bus driver for Greensburg Salem School District, most recently with Laidlaw Bus Company. During his entire career he remained accident free. Joe was also a dedicated employee of the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home since 1972. In his younger years he was a member of the band, The Crystal Tones, playing saxophone, at clubs, wedding and parties and was a member of the Community United Presbyterian Church of New Alexandria. He enjoyed car shows and listening to polka music, but his most enjoyable times were spent with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis D. Starry. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Madeline C. (Frater) Starry; three children, Joseph A. Starry, III (Stacy) of Greensburg, Marcy Starry of New Alexandria and Rhonda Bates (Brian) of Crabtree; two grandchildren, Breanna Bihon (fiance Logan Pynos) and David Bates; his much anticipated great grandchild, due in August; brother, Ronald Starry (Karen) of New Alexandria; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; his faithful companion and television watching buddy, Maycee and his grand dog, Mya. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Joe, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020 . A funeral Service will be held Friday at 12:30 p.m. in the Pantalone Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Keeping with CDC guidelines, those attending the viewing and funeral are required to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
