John A. Wilson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at the age of 82 on Thursday, August 29, 2024, in Greensburg, PA. He was born on August 19, 1942, in Fitz Henry, PA, a son of the late William Lloyd and Florence Lydia (Miller) Wilson. John was a lifelong resident of Greensburg, where he was known for his love of family, music, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. John proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, a commitment that he carried with honor throughout his life. Following his military service, John was employed by Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, where he worked diligently until his retirement. A graduate of South Huntingdon High School, John had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He was an avid bowler, and his love for music was a constant source of joy for him and those around him. John was a man who never met a stranger, always ready with a smile and a kind word for everyone he encountered. John's memory will be cherished by all who knew him. He lived a life full of love, laughter, and kindness, and his presence will be deeply missed. John was predeceased by his parents, as well as his siblings Florence Miller Abbott, Doris J. Farmer, James E. Wilson, Thomas C. Wilson and William Lloyd Wilson Jr. He was a devoted husband to Lorraine F. (Redman) Wilson, whom he married on December 4, 1982. John was also a loving father to Monica Redman Grays (LaShon) of Cleveland, OH, and a proud grandfather to Nyja Grays of Cleveland, OH. He is also survived by his sister, Gladys M. Isbell of Silver Spring, MD, and his brother, David L. Wilson of McKeesport, PA, and also leaves behind many loving in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of John, Monday, from 5 to 7p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., in the Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Gerald Smith, officiating.
