John "Jack" C. Rutter

John "Jack" C. Rutter, 84, of Greensburg died Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at home with family at his side. He was born March 1, 1941, in Bellefonte, PA, the son of the late John H. 'Johnny' Rutter and Mary L. 'Polly' Snyder Rutter. As a young man, Jack was a volunteer firefighter with Logan Fire Department in Bellefonte and Alpha VFD in State College, and also served as an EMT with Alpha. He was a member of Bellefonte Lodge #268 F&AM. Jack retired after 38 years of service as Coordinator of Construction for Allegheny Power and was a proud Air Force Veteran. In retirement, Jack could be found at Good Sheperd Lutheran Church volunteering with his best friend, Bill Ambrose, on the property committee. Jack was an avid woodworker and was well known as someone who was able and always willing to fix anything. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Andrew N. Rutter and granddaughter, Paige E. Rutter. Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mina Baird Rutter, two sons, Brian Rutter and wife Kathleen of Greensburg, and John 'Jay' Rutter and wife Christina of Medina, OH; daughter in law, Sandra of Flushing, MI; and four grandchildren, John Leonard (fiancé Mikaylah), Emily Grace, Alexander Kyle, and Ethan Andrew Rutter. He was the best husband, father and friend anyone could ask for. Relatives and friends of Jack will be received Monday from 3 to 7pm in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. Funeral service to be held the following day at 11am at the funeral home.
