Joanne Wass

Joanne M. (Rich) Wass , 89, of Greensburg, died Thursday, April 15, 2021, at home. She was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Frank and Irma Bellone Rich. Joanne was a retired dietary aide for St. Anne Home, Greensburg, and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church and their Youthful Seniors Group. She was known for her love for cleaning, as it was her favorite thing to do. She also enjoyed travelling, gambling, walking and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her "aunt," Mary Bellone; three brothers, Leonard, Paul and Frank “Bugs” Rich; and three sisters, Helen Kistler, Virginia Reidmiller and DeeDee Reidmiller. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Frank J. Wass; her beloved daughter, Natalie J. Silvis: grandson, Anthony Varriano; sister-in-law, Gloria Rossi (Ron), all of Greensburg; and her granddog, Hoagie. A sincere thanks to the Heritage Hospice team for all of their loving care and compassion for both Joanne and her family. A special thanks to Emma, Caroline, Kristy and Roseanne. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Grace Church. Everyone please go directly to the Church. Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
