JoAnn Scarano

JoAnn (Blissman) Scarano, 87, of Greensburg, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2023. She was born March 19, 1936, in Norvelt, a daughter of the late Joseph and Isabelle Aversa Blissman. JoAnn enjoyed going to the area casinos to try her luck. She was a kind and loving crossing guard for Aquinas Academy and took pride in making sure that all the children arrived safely at school. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Scarano; daughter, Pamela Roll; brother, Joseph Blissman; and sister, Anna Marie Forish. She is survived by her four children, Mary Ann Jordan (Donald), of South Greensburg, Albert J. Scarano, Joyce Lynn Scarano and Kathleen Snyder (Paul), all of Hinesville, Ga.; ten grandchildren, Katie Means (Dave), Nathan Roll (Kelly), Bradley Jordan (Kristin), Sarah Rhodes (Joe), Angela Scarano, Brandi and Brandon Holden and Heather, Jessica and Tabitha Snyder; seven great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Nico Means, Riley Roll, Matteo Jordan, Colson Rhodes, and Beela and Blaise Holden; two brothers, Dan Blissman (Cindy) and Bob Blissman, all of Greensburg; sister, Nancy Santone of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of JoAnn from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. Everyone please go directly to the church.
