Joan Wotus

Joan (Sorice) ‘Sis’ Wotus , 89, of Crabtree, died Monday, November 29, 2021 at home.  She was born May 22, 1932, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Delphio and Veronica Uhrin Sorice.  She was a member of St. Bartholomew Church and it’s Rosary Alter Society.  In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a recently new GG, she also worked part time at the Crabtree Post Office for twenty-five years.  She always had a sense of adventure that started with her 1955 train trip acrosse country to the Grand Canyon where she rode a mule to the base of the canyon and stayed the night.  This sense of adventure continued through out her life with numerous family trips which included yearly beach vacations up and down the east coast.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank 'Menzie' Wotus in 2009 and a brother, Richard Sorice.  She is survived by her five children, Jeffrey Wotus (Cindy) of Cary, NC, David Wotus (Linda) of Valencia, Bill Wotus (JoAnn) of Cranberry Township, Darin Wotus (Louisa) of Crabtree and Kathleen Kuhns (James) of Greensburg; eleven grandchildren, Michael (Melissa), Chris, Ryan, Sam (Kayla), Katie, Matthew, Sarah and Jackson Wotus and Gabby, Will and Sadie Kuhns; a great grandson, Jason Wotus; three siblings, Brud Sorice (Sue) of Moon Township, Ron Sorice (Bonnie) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Veronica Elliott of Jeannette; inlaws, Joe Wotus of Springfield, MA and Jane Ranier (Ron) of Jeannette and numerous nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Joan, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.  Parting prayers will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, with Fr.
