Jean Mcglothlin

Jean L. McGlothlin, 88, of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016. Jean was born March 15, 1927, in Greensburg, to Emma Shearer Mears and Lloyd Mears Sr. She has had many accomplishments in her lifetime, including being recently named alongside her husband as the 2015 Westmoreland County volunteers of the year for their dedicated service to Tri-City Meals on Wheels. She retired from Old Republic Insurance as an administrative assistant, also previously managing the Manos Theater, before becoming the Palace, from the 1960s through the 1970s. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Robert Mears, Charles "Dutch" Mears, Lloyd "Bud" Mears, Nevin Mears and Betty Mears Myers. She leaves to cherish her in memory her beloved husband, Bill, from Looneyville, W.Va.; children, Sherrill (David) Kennedy, Carol (Charles) Schropp and Jerry (Debbie) Johnson; six grandchildren, Jacquelynn (Brian) Kumpf, Jamie Puckett, John Wright III, Robert Johnson, Kristy (Michael) Avery and Emilee Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Grace, Benjamin and Shawn; and many more family and friends. Jean will be sadly missed by her family, friends and community.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Jean from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Pantalone Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. Jean's family has entrusted her care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg.
