Jay B. Carter, 88, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014, in his home.
He was born May 3, 1926, in Washington, a son of the late James Harry Carter and Adelaide Andrew Carter.
Mr. Carter was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg.
He was retired from Westinghouse and was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his wife, JoAnn Barnes Carter, and a sister, Joan Kowalski.
Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Dutzik and husband Wayne of Pittsburgh; a granddaughter, Dana Dutzik of Pittsburgh; three brothers, Jim Carter and wife Mary of Washington, Robert Carter and wife Mimi of Belafonte, Ohio, and Jon Carter and wife Pat of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public viewing. A service will be held at noon Thursday, September 11, in First Presbyterian Church Memorial Chapel, 300 South Main Street, Greensburg, with the Rev. Martin Ankrum officiating. Inurnment will be private in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
