James “JV” Vaccare, 76, of Greensburg, died Thursday, November 14, 2024, in the Shadyside Hospital surrounded by family. He was born May 29, 1948, in Greensburg, a son of the late James V. Vaccare and Esther L. DeBone Vaccare. James was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, the Greensburg Country Club and the Hilltop Club. He enjoyed golfing and proudly served in the United States Army Reserves. “JV” has been employed by the Smail Auto Group for 52 years and was a former manager and was still actively working as a Product Specialist for Mercedes Benz division. He was a proud member of the Old Joe Club organization and looked forward to their Men’s Night Out event every year. He was a very generous, humble, and hard-working man. His strength and courage was very admirable and he was very well loved by everyone around him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Vaccare, and a brother Dennis Vaccare. He is survived by children, Katherine N. Vaccare of Pittsburgh and James F. Vaccare of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Phyllis Cooper (Michael), Elizabeth 'Libby' Zelenak, and Esther Rahl (Brian), all of Greensburg and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of “JV” will be received Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home, Tuesday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 300 N. Main St., Greensburg.
