Harvey E. Porter , 90, of Southwest Greensburg, died Saturday, April 01, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 09, 1933, in West Mifflin, a son of the late Elvira Porter Andrews. Harvey was the former Vice President of Sales, Fike's Dairy in Uniontown and was a member of St. Paul's Church, Greensburg. Harvey was a passionate golfer and enjoyed playing the links at Mt. Odin Golf Course since 1972. Through his natural ability on the golf course, he scored 11 holes-in-one during his golfing career, 5 on his beloved course…Mt. Odin. In his mid-70’s, he found another passion and learned to play the organ. He was also a proud Veteran of the US Navy, having served in Pearl Harbor. Harvey was passionate about donating to various Veteran's organizations and causes. After retirement he enjoyed taking his entire family on several vacations, making memories, and enjoying his children, grandchildren, and their families. He was preceded in death by James and Margaret Porter, who raised him; his wife, Anna L. Wagner Porter; two brothers, James Porter and James Andews; and a sister, Greta Gumbert. He is survived by his six children, Kimberly Secrist (Alan) of Bovard, Michael Porter (Kathy) of Durham, NC, Beth Cowles of Southwest Greensburg, Laura Trout (Scott), Susan Trout (David) all of Greensburg and Debra Menger (Clark) of Powhatan,VA; thirteen grandchildren, Nicole LaPorte (Mark), Derek Secrist (Nikki), Carly Frisk (Brenden), Katie Porter, Caroline Blessing (Ryan), Sean Cowles (Alesha), Stephanie Cowles (Fiance Rob DeHappart), Matthew Trout (Jenna), Chelsea, Cameron and Cavan Trout, and Harlan and Quinn Menger; eight great grandchildren and one expected in May, Jaylen Overton, Lincoln LaPorte, Randy and Raegan Secrist, Kendall and Rory Frisk, Luke Blessing and Audrina Trout; sister, Shirley Waldron of Baldwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Harvey, Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Pantalone Funeral Home. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
