Genevieve Sheffo

Genevieve A. (Schifano) Sheffo , 91, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born March 24, 1925, in Philippi, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles and Biagia Maida Schifano. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church. She had worked in the mailroom at the Tribune Review in Greensburg for more than 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dominick Sheffo; three brothers, Tony, Frank and Sam Schifano; and a sister, Carmella Pasqualone. She is survived by three children, Josephine Sheffo, of Greensburg, Salvatore Sheffo, of Level Green, and Belinda Sedlak and husband, Joseph, of Youngwood; four grandchildren, James Riggs and his partner, Kevin Fisher, Ed Riggs, Salvatore Sheffo Jr. and wife, Erin, and Jenna Lin Sheffo; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Dominick, Nicolas and Angelina; a sister, Virginia Bucchi and husband, Julian, of Greensburg; a sister-in-law, Dolores Schifano; and numerous nieces and nephews. As per Genevieve's wish, there will be no public viewing. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life at her funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Chapel. Interment will follow.
