Gary E. Kistler, 80, of Greensburg, died Monday, December 26, 2022 peacefully and surrounded by his family. He was born July 14, 1942, in Grapeville, a son of the late Elton Silvis and Gladys M. Guy Kistler. Gary was a retired Truck Driver for Ryder Trucking, Latrobe and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. There wasn’t a day he missed watching Steeler, Penguin, or Pirate games. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Gary E. Kistler, Jr. and a sister, Gayle Kistler. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-eight years, Shirley J. Conner Kistler; daughter, Sonja Kubinec (Mike) of New Stanton; daughter in law, Audrey Rotheram (Rich) of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Justin, Cory and Paige Kistler and Megan Kubinec; great granddaughter, Maisyn Kistler; twin sister, Garyln Feight of White Oak, NC; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Gary, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Pantalone Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post 33 Honor Guard will follow in Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church, 134 Matthews Street, Greensburg, PA 15601.
