Fred J. Patrick, Jr.

Fred J. Patrick Jr., 85, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023. Born June 1, 1938, in Greensburg, a son of the late Fred J. Patrick Sr. and Mary Crosby Patrick. Fred lived his younger years in Lincoln Heights, where he was a Boy Scout, and in his teen years moved to Greensburg. He played football for Greensburg High School, where he graduated and later received a Machine Shop certificate through the GS Vocational Department. He served his country with the Army Reserve in Bethany Beach, Del., where he was honorably discharged. When not proudly providing for his family, Fred enjoyed watching his children play sports, hunting small game with his longtime Paintertown friends and big game hunting with his cousins of Burnside. One of his proud moments was completing the Pittsburgh Great Race at age 60, running with all four of his sons. He retired from General Tire and spent his later years growing his award-winning African Violets, tending to his vegetable garden, brewing his fountain of youth tonic, kombucha, and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh sports teams. Fred will be sadly missed by his family: sons, Jefferey Patrick (Darlene), of Greensburg, Brian Patrick (Kimberly), of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Kevin Patrick, of Carnegie; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patty Collincini Patrick; their son, Sean; and his younger brothers, Mike and Tom. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Hempfield Manor and Caring Hospice for their loving care and attention.
