Flora White-Howland

Flora B. (Robinson) White-Howland, 71, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021. She was born Sept. 5, 1950, in Monessen, a daughter of the late Marshall and Bernice Bryant Robinson. Flora was an example of the saying, "walking with the Lord". She not only had been a pastor of the former Victory in Christ Ministries in Greensburg, but had also been active in several non-denominational churches in the Tri-State area. She was on the board of Headstart and the former Westmoreland Human Opportunities. Flora was instrumental in starting the Circles program that had been designed to help with hunger and homelessness in the area. She never met a stranger and was an evangelist to everyone that would listen.  Flora enjoyed music ministry and even had a television show at one time.  She also was a vocal coach for the Miss Black Teenage Pageant in Pittsburgh in the late 70’s and early 80’s.  After 9/11, she and her family went on a mission trip to New York City to help those in need. She was a testament to her faith. In her younger years, Flora worked in corporate administration for both Gulf Oil and J&L Steel Companies. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Smith. She is survived by her two daughters, Janese White, of Greensburg, and Angel White Regel (Nathan), of Martins Ferry, Ohio; four grandchildren, Isaac McClain and Leonidas, Athena and Perseus Regel; sister, Patricia Anderson, of Bessemer, Ala.; a sister, Charlette Dickerson Reed (Kevin), of Monessen; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Flora from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Word of Life Church, 4497 PA-136, Greensburg, PA 15601. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, Canonsburg.
