Eleanor Petrosky

Eleanor M. (Sorice) Petrosky , 86, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born April 10, 1930, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Anthony L. and Rose Butz Sorice. Eleanor was a sales associate for the former Troutman's Department Store in Greensburg, Kaufmann's and Macy's in Westmoreland Mall. She enjoyed her grandchildren, spending time with family, baking, decorating her home, singing, playing music and paying attention to details. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred J. "Curt" Petrosky, in 2015; a brother, Sebastian Sorice; and a sister, Rosemarie Plundo. She is survived by three children, Darlene Orszulak, of Latrobe, Lori Sendro (Dan), of Greensburg, and Curt Petrosky (Mary Beth), of Harrison City; seven grandchildren, Elaina, Zakk, Ryan, Derek, Kevin, Caitlin and Bridget; a brother, Edward Sorice (Vera), of Greensburg; a sister, Gloria Potthoff, of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Eleanor from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. Eleanor's family has entrusted her care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg.
