Donald Mastrorocco, Sr.

Donald A. Mastrorocco Sr ., 89, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1929, in Greensburg, a son of the late Salvatore and Sara C. Sundry Mastrorocco. Don was a retired machinist for Kennametal and served in the Army. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and the Hilltop Club. Don also assisted with the broadcasting of area football games with the former WHJB radio station and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Jeanne M. Zajdel Mastrorocco; his son, Donald A. Mastrorocco Jr. (Barbara), of Harrisburg; his daughter, Diane Urban (Pat), of Greensboro, N.C.; five grandchildren, Patrick Urban (Adelaide), Mary 'Molly' DeAngelo (Kevin), Rachel Urban, Melissa Coward (Matt) and Sara Mastrorocco Sprunger (Russell); nine great-grandchildren, Michael and Robert Urban, Nick and Max DeAngelo, Caden, Ryan, Hannah and Eleanor Coward and Emilia Sprunger; a brother, Paul Mastrorocco (Lynn DiLeo), of Murrysville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Don from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
