Dennis Starry

Dennis D. "Slick" Starry , 70, of New Alexandria, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in the UPMC Presbyterian hospital. He was born Dec. 20, 1945, in New Alexandria, a son of the late Joseph Starry Sr. and Irene G. Campbell Starry. Denny was Presbyterian by faith. He drove bus for the GSSD, employed by the former Mark Lines and Laidlaw Transit. He loved playing bingo, watching sports and was a lifetime member of the New Alexandria Fire Department. He is survived by his two brothers, Joseph Starry Jr. and wife, Madeline, and Ronald Starry and wife, Karen, all of New Alexandria; seven nieces and nephews, Joseph Starry III and wife, Stacy, Marcy Starry, Rhonda Bates and husband, Brian, Douglas Starry and wife, Dana, Susan Goodnight and husband, Luther, Jerry Starry and Ronald Starry Jr.; an aunt, Mary Masley, of West Homestead; numerous great-nieces and nephews and cousins; and his cat, Porky. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Denny from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Blairsville Cemetery.
