Cora Jane (Shearer) Ferri , 81, of Greensburg, passed into the loving arms of Jesus Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, after a very brief stay at St. Anne Home surrounded by family, friends and clergy, as she prepared to meet her Savior. She was born Oct. 7, 1940, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Ernest and Della Ludwig Shearer. Cora Jane was a homemaker while she and Leroy were raising their two daughters. She then went to work for the Diocese of Greensburg at the former St. Joseph Center as a receptionist, before retiring in 2002. After retirement, she enjoyed her time volunteering in the community and spending time with her beloved family and friends. In her 50s, Cora decided that she wanted to learn how to tap dance and enjoyed her time at the Palace Theatre with the “Morning Star Steppers.” In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and best friend, Judy Mae; a brother, Albert; and a grandson, David Schwarz. Cora is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Leroy Eugene Ferri; two daughters, Kimberley Parker (Mark), of Greensburg, and Melissa Schwarz (Steve), of Catonsville, Md.; two grandchildren, Katie Parker and Will Schwarz; two brothers, Marvin Shearer (Bunny), of Connellsville, and Ernest Shearer (Judy), of Bullskin Township; sister-in-law, Lucille Nobile (Art), of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
