Constance L. Smeltzer

Constance L. Smeltzer, 78, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, in the Allegheny General Hospital after a brief illness.  She was born May 09, 1946, in the Derry Township village of Atlantic, a daughter of the late Merle and Mary Gruska Ray.  Connie was a member of the Our Lady of Grace and their Rosary Altar Society.  She loved to cook Sunday dinners and make homemade Ravioli and nut rolls.  She enjoyed going to the gym and reading.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Merle; one infant brother Stanley; and a sister Kimberly.   Connie is survived by her husband of 57 years James 'Les' Smeltzer; two daughters Tracey L. Smeltzer of New Derry and Dani Lingis (Bill) of New Stanton; two grandchildren who were the light of her life, Noah and Jillienne; her sister-in-law Beverly 'Bunny' Ray; and her nephews Brian, David, and Mark Ray.  Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Connie, Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.  Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of Grace Church.  Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.  The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Allegheny General Hospital Neurology ICU for their kindness and compassion.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude PL,Memphis, TN  38105 or the St. Vincent Monastery Infirmary, c/o Fr.
