Charles Diorio

Charles R. DiOrio, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022. He was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Crabtree, a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Merichko DiOrio. He was a member of St. Florian Church and a veteran of the Army, having served during the Korean War. Charles was a retired facility manager for Super Valu in New Stanton. He was an avid hunter and trap shooter and a member of the Hecla Sportsman Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores M. Duff DiOrio, in 2020; and his sister, Josephine Merenda. He is survived by his three children, Leann Allen, of Pittsburgh, Dena Petrella (Dean), of Cranberry, and Charles DiOrio, of Mt. Pleasant; two granddaughters, who he adored, Gianna and Renata Petrella; brother, Louis DiOrio (Beverly), of Youngwood; four grandpuppies, Tiki, Emit, Coco and Cloe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Charles from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020 . Parting prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the St. Florian Church, with Father John Sedlak.
