Carter Patrick

On Saturday May 6th, 2023, Carter Holman Patrick passed away suddenly at the age of 26. Carter was born on April 5th, 1997, in San Diego California to Hakan Akbay and Kelly Patrick. Carter is survived by his father (Hakan Akbay) and mum (Kelly Patrick), brother (Spencer Patrick), grandmother “Nini” (Anita Patrick), grandmother (Sukran Akbay), and uncle (Volkan Akbay). Carter loved sports; especially football and snowboarding.  He excelled at anything he put his mind to. He had a big heart and was always willing to help other people; from taking food to the homeless to giving a friend a ride to work. He was goofy and funny, and always the life of the party.  Unfortunately, he also battled with bipolar disease and alcoholism. Mental health was the disease, and alcohol was his medicine. Our once athletic, funny, caring, goofy son was no more. Please remember him as the caring friend, co-worker, teammate, grandson, nephew, brother, and son because that’s who he truly was in his heart and ours. I love you… baby!
