Calvin Hill

Calvin Neal Hill , 77, of Dover, OH formerly of Jeannette, died Thursday, April 27, 2023.  He was born November 4, 1945, in Kittanning, a son of the late Austin Neal and Lois Vivian Mechling Hill.  Calvin retired from a successful sales career of 28 years at Brighton Collectibles.  He honorably served in the US Navy.  Prior to moving to Ohio, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensburg.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching football, baseball and golf and spending time at Atwood Lake with his family.  Calvin’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Claypoole Hill; and sister, Margie Stewart Dechant.  He is survived by his two daughters, Meredith Hill of Pittsburgh, and Miranda Malarik (Shawn) of Dover, OH; three grandchildren who were the light of his life, Mavis, Iris and Winnie Malarik; sister, Cindy Schill (Joseph) of Shippenville and several nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Calvin, Sunday, April 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020.  Additional viewing will be held Monday, May 1st, from 10:30 until 11 a.m., the time of service, in the First Baptist Church of Greensburg, 1228 Armbrust Brinkerton Rd, Greensburg, PA 15601.  Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Cemetery, Worthington, PA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Light of Life Rescue Mission Pittsburgh, lightoflife.org  Calvin’s family has entrusted his care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg.  For online condolences / directions, visit us at pantalone.com.
