The family of Beverly Ann (Rood) Hilterbrick is saddened to announce her passing on February 24, 2025.
Bev was born November 3, 1959, in St. Clair Michigan to Raymond Ralston Rood, Sr. and Betty Lou (Dandron) Rood. She is survived by her daughter Amy & son-in-law Todd Savini, of New Alexandria, son Justin Hilterbrick of Mount Washington, and their father, Paul. She will forever be missed by her grandson Logan Swartz.
She was preceded in death by infant sons, Jon Paul and Todd Alan, brothers Raymond Jr., and Victor, as well as her parents.
Growing up, Bev loved riding her dirt bike and snowmobile with her Dad and the guys, often beating them in trail races. She was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed getting muddy on her four-wheeler, hunting, camping, DIY projects, gardening, kayaking with her family and the solace of nature. Some of her happiest moments were spent in the middle of nowhere, Alaska, waterfalls and anyplace in the woods. She loved literature, music, attending live concerts and writing both poetry and short stories.
Bev honorably served in the United States Air Force and worked as a wildlife photographer and animal caretaker, but her proudest roles were as Mom and Grandma.
She was strong-willed, sarcastic, ardent, and loved all unconditionally.
The family will hold a memorial at Tahquamenon Falls.
