Betty J. Martin Bey

Betty J. Martin Bey, 88, of Greensburg, passed away on January 20, 2024, at home with her son beside her. She was born May 21, 1935, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Doty and Georg’anna Williams.  Betty was born and raised in Slickville until she moved to Chicago with her late husband and raised a family. She was a pillar of her community and very much loved by everyone who she came in contact with. She had a great sense of humor and was spunky up until the very end. Betty will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Mae Stewart and Sylester Washington; two brothers, Eugene Williams, Sr. and Robert Williams.  She is survived by her son, Roy H. Martin, Jr. (Lori Lewis) of Greensburg; her daughter, Roxanna Smith (Jimmy), Gary, IN; her grandson, Roy H. Martin III; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends and extended family and friends in Chicago; Paul who knew Betty for 71 years and his dog Buffy; her neighbor Rosie who loved Betty dearly, and Craig in Chicago who Betty loved and considered her Godson.  A gathering of relatives and friends of Betty will take place Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m., in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W.
