Dominic Bartholomew "Bert" DeFloria , 95, of Greensburg, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Feb. 20, 1927, in Greensburg, a son of the late Guiseppi "Joseph" and Rosina "Rose" Massari DeFloria. Bert was a longtime member of Our Lady of Grace Church and the Cercemaggiore Association of PA. He was a life member and past chief from 1961 to 1968 of the Hempfield VFD Hose Co. No. 2 and a member of the South Greensburg American Legion Post 981 and the Hill Top Club. Bert spent most of his professional career as a mould maker at Overmyer Mould Company. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nita Kathryn Cleland DeFloria; son, Dominic (Nick) DeFloria; eight brothers, Thomas (Marsha "Jean"), James (Edna "Gerry"), John (T. Christine), Joseph (Dorothy) and Frank DeFloria; three sisters, Genevieve (James) Rocco, Anna Marie Stabile and Floramae (Paul) Smith, and three infant brothers, Digiovanni, Pasqualino and Pasqualino. He is survived by his loving companion, Sylvia Kistler, of Greensburg; son, Mark DeFloria (Sandra), of Greensburg; daughter-in-law, Linda DeFloria, of Rocky Mount, N.C.; five grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Murray (Scott), Donna Marie Podlucky (Johnathan), Craig Anthony DeFloria, Wayne Anthony DeFloria (Erica) and Melanie Lynn DeFloria Baltzer; 10 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gidick, Gianna Murray, Alex and Abbey Podlucky, Casper DeFloria, Lucas, Blake, Parker and Hudson DeFloria and Anthony Baltzer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Bert from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg. Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum with full military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 981.
