Anthony Cavallo, 87, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born May 1, 1928, in Bovard, a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Mastro Cavallo. He was a painter for Shearer and Co. of Latrobe and a member of Local 409. Tony was a Korean War veteran, having served with the Army, earning the rank of sergeant and served as a tank commander. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanie Novosel and Dorothy DeLuca; and a brother, Michael Cavallo. He is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Frances E. Salvio Cavallo; four children, Anthony Cavallo Jr. and wife, Donna, of Forbes Road, Timothy Cavallo, of Ligonier, Michael Cavallo and wife, Faith, of Bolivar, and Patricia Reed and husband, John "Duke", of Latrobe; eight grandchildren, Dave, Nick, Tim, Matthew, Amber and Shawn Cavallo and Cody and Isabella Reed; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Zachary, Avery, Nevaeh, Colton and Brylee; a brother, Joseph Cavallo and wife, Mary, of Greensburg; a very special niece, Rita Dayok and family; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the best husband and father there ever was.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Tony from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Pantalone Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
