Alexander "Fluff" Moreland, 20, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015. He was born Feb. 3, 1995, in Raleigh, N.C., a son of George F. III and Gwendollynn McGrath Moreland. Alex was a 2013 graduate of Greensburg Salem High School, where he participated with the football and track teams. He was currently attending IUP, where he was majoring in human resources. During high school and summers, he worked at his parents' restaurant, Geo's Restaurant and Lounge in Latrobe, and had done summer internships with the Pennsylvania Turnpike. He had such a passion for life, his family and friends. He was a loyal, honest, gentle and creative man. Known for his big bear hugs and his infectious smile, Alex had the kindest of hearts. He was always there to lend a shoulder or a hand. He didn't want anyone to walk alone. He was a true friend, a wonderful son. In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents, William and Debra McGrath, of Raleigh, N.C., the Rev. Gwen and the Rev. Vicente Santiago, of Greensburg, and David and Irene Stinson, of Scranton; paternal grandparents, George F. II and Maureen Moreland, of Greensburg, and Suzanne Moreland, of Richfield, Minn.; a maternal great-grandfather, Russel E. Gettemy, of Greensburg; aunts and uncles, Sara Frye and husband, David, of Greensburg, Christopher Moreland and wife, Barbara, of New Castle, and Lisa Moreland, of Greensburg; godmothers, Jenny Yutz, Yvonne Miller and wife, Ashleigh, Nicole Angelo, Iris Gettemy and Angie Webreck; and several cousins, extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Alex from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Christ's Church, 145 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-834-4750, with Father Jeff Wylie officiating. Everyone please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
