Adaline Skillings

Adaline M. (Jackson) Skillings, 103, of Hannastown, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born May 6, 1913, in Hannastown, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose Kelley Jackson. She was a longtime member of First Antioch Baptist Church, where she was recently inducted as Mother of the Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Skillings; a daughter, Beverly S. Coleman; an infant son, Joseph Jr.; two sons-in-law, the Rev. William Roberts and Thomas Payne; two brothers, William Jackson and James Kelley; and two sisters, Veronica Chabail and Myrtle Jackson. She is survived by her two sons, Merzone "Buzzy" Skillings and wife, Thomasina, of Murrysville, and Terrance Skillings and wife, Beverly, of Hannastown; three daughters, Carol Roberts and Dietra Payne, both of Greensburg, and Darlene Ross and husband, Dan, of Allison Park; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Adaline from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, in First Antioch Baptist Church. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. Adaline's family has entrusted her care to the Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., Greensburg.
